Dear Southmoore Church Family and Friends,
I can hear you say, “Don’t you think this is a little much?”
My answer, “Yes, I do!”
We are all getting tired of our new normal. We are used to moving on. We are used to putting “stuff” behind us. It doesn’t matter how you slice it; these are difficult days.
It’s easy to say, “Don’t worry,” or “Don’t be afraid.” I know as God’s people we are not to live in fear. Yes, fear and faith cannot co-exist. But there are times in our lives that fear comes barging in. It’s called reality.
Keep reading. I have some good news. “When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God whose word I praise- in God I trust; I will not be afraid.” (Psalm 56:3-4)
Did you notice the psalmist saying when I am afraid, I will trust God? He is saying that there are times in our lives that fear sets in. When it does, we are to trust God. Easier said than done, yes. I hope you hear God saying, “We are going to get through this – together.” It is His promise to us.
I have a personal prayer request. It was discovered last week that I have a tumor in my bladder. It is about the size of a walnut. A biopsy was taken and was sent off to the lab. I will not know the results of the test until September 18. This finding not only has my attention, but also my family. Please pray for us as we navigate through these uncertain days.
To Live Is Christ,
Bro. Danny
