Dear Southmoore Church Family and Friends
If you would have told me months ago, we would still be in the middle of this coronavirus, I would have said, “No way!” But as you know, it is “Yes way!” Of course, that doesn’t mean we have to like it.
Yes, Covid 19 is taking its toll on all of us. We are growing weary. Of course, that brings us to a place of deciding what we are going to do.
When it is all said and done, we can do one of two things: Become cynical? Give up? Throw up our hands in the air and quit? Or we can choose not to give up. We can choose to trust. We can choose to look up. We can choose to walk by faith and not by sight.
Allow me to share some good news. I know you will agree with me that we could all use some good news at this time. Paul was writing to Timothy. Timothy was discouraged. His faith was being challenged. Paul writes, “If we are faithless, He will remain faithful, for He cannot disown Himself,” (2 Timothy 2:13). Paul is reminding Timothy that God, in no uncertain circumstances, will ever abandon His children.
Some more good news: A vaccine will be available in the near future. Of course, we don’t know when it will get to us. But, we do see a light at the end of the tunnel. I believe we have entered into the fourth quarter fighting this virus. So, let me encourage you to keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting.
East Wing Project: Progress is being made. Slow but sure. I was told this week that the grids for the drop ceiling will go up in a couple of weeks if all goes well. I believe we will see things move along after that.
I want to commend you for your continued financial support to the church. Your tithes and offerings speak volumes of your love for the Lord and His church. You are amazing!
Last of all, pray as we go forward at Southmoore. Yes, a vaccine is on its way, but until it is made available, the cases are going up. We may need to only record our Sunday morning services, and not have people attend. That’s not what I want, but it may be best for the safety of everyone. Please pray. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
To Live is Christ

Happy Thanksgiving!
