Southmoore is partnering with the Moore regional Food Bank to feed families in our community.

This will allow Southmoore Baptist Church to help hungry families in our community without storing and distributing the food ourselves. Additionally, The Moore Food & Resource Center is a well-known agency. Partnering with the center gives our church the ability to reach more people.

There are two way to get involved

Donate Food

Next time you go grocery shopping, grab an extra can for those in need and place them in the boxes located in the gymnasium. When the boxes are full, the Regional Food Bank/Moore Food & Resource Center will pick up the boxes and replace them with empty ones.

What to bring

Canned goods or peanut butter


Some of the most needed items include:

  • Canned Fruit Canned Pasta
  • Canned Vegetables Cannes Tuna
  • Canned Chicken Canned Soup
  • Peanut Butter 

What not to bring

Fresh fruits and vegetables or anything perishable or that might attract vermin

Donate Money

Cash donations allow the Moore Food and Resource center to purchase food from the local grocery stores. The center has purchasing advantages allowing them to obtain more food per dollar.

Ways to give

  • You can mail in a check.
  • You can give in person.

No matter what method you choose, please make sure to note that your donation is designated for the Food Bank.

About The Moore Food & Resource Center

The Moore Food & Resource Center located at 2635 N. Shields in Moore, assists 1,900 families each month from the south Oklahoma City, Moore and Norman areas. Families take home approximately 67 meals, which lasts 6-8 days.

The center is a partner of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and is a client-choice pantry that allows clients to select their own food, rather than receiving a pre-packed or standard bag of groceries.
In addition to food, the Moore Food & Resource Center provides:

  • Cooking & nutrition demonstrations
  • Nutrition education & recipes
  • Library services
  • Child wellness resources
  • Help accessing health insurance and prescription benefits
  • Information about SNAP and WIC Case managers that assist with:
    • Goal-setting
    • Connecting with resources for medical/dental needs, housing, utilities, etc.
    • Budgeting
    • Resume-building and job seeking
