Our Staff

Danny has been the pastor of Southmoore Baptist Church in Moore, Oklahoma since 2017. Before coming to Southmoore, he pastored Wilmont Place Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for twenty-five years. In total, Danny has over forty years of pastoral ministry. He also taught school and coached for nine years in Oklahoma public schools.

Danny received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education at Northeaster State College in Tahlequah, OK; a Master’s Degree of Religious Education at SWBTS in Fort Worth, Texas; and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana.

Danny and his wife, Judy, have been married for fifty-one years. They have one daughter and four grandchildren. Danny enjoys golf, fishing, and most of all, cheering for his grandchildren at their sports events.

My name is Hayden Young. I graduated from East Central University in 2004 with a degree in Human Service Counseling. I surrendered to youth ministry in 2002 while I was the youth intern at the church I was attending. It wasn’t until August of 2014 God called me to be the youth minister here at Southmoore Baptist Church. It’s hard to believe I have been on staff for over 4 years already. I am thankful for God’s Grace in my life that allows me to do what God has called me to do. It is so fun connecting with students and connecting them to Christ. I am thankful I get to be the youth minister at Southmoore Baptist Church. It has been a blast to have a front row seat to watch God move in students lives. I look forward to all God still has in store !

I am a PE teacher at Plaza Towers Elementary by day. I was teacher of the year in 2014. I am currently working on my master’s in Education Administration. I love college football especially watching the OU Sooners. Also, I am a huge OKC Thunder fan. In my spare time I enjoy fishing, staying fit, listening to music, watching movies (if I ever have time.) Most of all I love making people smile and making them laugh.

My life verse is Joshua 1:9. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord  your God will be with you wherever you go.” Every day the Lord asks us to follow him and asks us to have courage to do his will. This verse helps me in so many areas of my life to live out my life in faith to him and knowing he is with me everywhere I go. This helps me to have confidence in whatever I face and helps give me rest when I need it.

Hello, I’m Dennis.  My wife Liz and I have been active members of Southmoore Baptist Church for the past 8 years.  We have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

 I was welcomed into the Praise Team early on and drawn to community outreach as part of our ‘M.I.N.G.L.E. in the park’ ministry.  A performing musician in Oklahoma for many years, I’m still active with a few bands at events, revivals, festivals & fairs around the state.  My training includes Classical Guitar, Music Theory and Performing Band at Rose State college.   I have been blessed to take a progressing leadership role in our Sunday morning services. God has a plan for everyone.  My goal is to blend traditional hymns and modern praise music to reach & engage our varied congregation.  Praising our Lord is wonderful, and I hope to worship with you very soon!
